Who we are

The Canberra Psychology Centre for Children and Families is an established and busy professional Psychology practice. Our Centre is founded on the principle of providing the highest quality, best practice, evidence based psychological services to the Canberra community.

In keeping with this, we provide a high quality working environment along with excellent conditions, making our Centre a great place for Psychologists to progress their careers. We take pride in providing a collaborative, supportive and friendly work environment, as well as being flexible and supportive to ensure our our team can acheive balance between their professional and home lives.

CPCCF provides therapy from the antenatal period through all levels of child development to young adulthood. We also provide therapy to parents, families and adults.

How we work

Our team works closely together to ensure the provision of best practice, evidence based assessment, diagnostic and therapy services. We also provide excellence in Practice Management and reception support.

Hours are negotiable and flexible. We have options for full or part time, after hours and weekend work.

We believe that standalone buildings with spacious therapy rooms, located in easily accessible private and peaceful settings, with ample parking, are ideal for the services we provide.

Our Acton office is set on a large private block on the West Basin foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin (close to the National Museum of Australia). Major arterial roads provide easy access to this location, with plenty of parking available directly across from the office.

Our North Belconnen office is set high on a hill in a quiet location that borders Flynn and Fraser. This building has disabled facilities. Major arterial roads provide easy access to this location and we have ample private parking on site, and free parking adjacent.

We are looking for Psychologists with:
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the provision of evidence based therapy for the following client groups: children, adolescents, young adults, parents and/or families

  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Strong communication and rapport building skills

  • A genuine interest in the wellbeing of clients

  • Demonstrated high standard of ethics

  • Dedication to professional development

Essential Criteria:
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the provision of evidence based therapy for the following client groups: children, adolescents, young adults, parents and/or families

  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Strong communication and rapport building skills

  • A genuine interest in the wellbeing of clients

  • Demonstrated high standard of ethics

  • Dedication to professional development

Desirable Criteria:
  • Completion of a Masters or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology.

  • Experience with positive psychology therapeutic modalities (ACT, Mindfulness-based therapies).

  • Graduate Recruitment Program

  • CPCCF provides Board approved supervision for the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program.
